Chelsea & Jake's Boho Chic Fall Wedding at Barn at Raccoon Creek
Chelsea and Jake were married at The Barn at Raccoon Creek in October! After a mid October blizzard we were a little concerned we wouldn’t get the dream fall wedding we wanted but the Colorado sun came out and gave us a perfect day! I have known Chelsea since I started as a freshman at CU (where she met her hubs) and we became sorority sisters! Our paths crossed again after graduation when Chelsea and Jake ended up living right next door to me in me and Tommy’s first apartment! So crazy! When it came to planning her wedding our design inspiration was Chelseas love for Macrame and all things bohemian. She wanted to use warm, comfortable colors like burgundy, navy, and mixed metals to compliment the fall colors of October! Boho Chic was the main goal in everything we created and I was so incredibly happy with the result! The day started with hair and make up in the large bridal suite at The Barn at Raccoon Creek! When everyone was finished the Bride slipped into her Klienfeld gown. The brides sisters slipped into their bridesmaids dresses created by the brides mother that is a fashion designer. Then the couple had their first look. This was a perfect scene full of all the fall colors and lots of dreamy yellow leaves. The couple had a jewish ceremony complete with a completely decked out chuppah with florals by Beet and Yarrow and the macrame backdrop designed by the brides friend! It was the perfect backdrop to tie in the bohemian element into the ceremony! One of my favorite parts of the ceremony was when the whole family came up to the couple and wrapped them in a prayer shawl to bless their marriage and life together! And my favorite part of all Jewish ceremonies, the smashing of the glass which Danna Frost caught photos of in perfect time! After the ceremony, guests headed to the lawn for cocktail hour. The space was decked out in string lights and had cozy lounge seating provided by Max and Livie. The couple added a few of their own furniture pieces and pillows to the lounge to make it extra homey! Guests found their seats on the wooden sign designed by Handsome Love Calligraphy, another place we tied in the macrame detail! The couple opted for a cookie bar with cookies by Ruby Jean Patisserie instead of serving traditional wedding cake. The cookies also served as a favor for people to take home on their way out the door! Everyone danced the night away under the stars! The groom even brought his own dance floor props that really ended the night with a bang. I am so obsessed with this wedding and this couple and I am so happy they trusted me to plan their special day! Let’s have another party real soon! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Sundling!
