2017's Best Wedding Invites

2017's Best Wedding Invites

Signed, sealed, delivered. Were talking invitations...

With engagement season well underway, we thought we would showcase some unique invitations that we just can't get enough of. Your invitation is your guests first real peek into what your wedding will be like. Send something that will make them as excited for your wedding as you are.

Make Your Own Monogram

Me+You=Us. It just works. We have been seeing this everywhere, and we find it is a simple way to put personal touches on everything from napkins to having the design on your dance floor. We especially love this because, just like your marriage, this will last well after the wedding.

View Master Invitations

It doesn't get more unique than this. This view master invite is shipped in a box with a custom reel with all of your wedding details. You can include all the essential information as well as your engagement photos to make your reel complete. This invite really sets the tone for a fun and original wedding. This is our absolute favorite invite on this list.

Acrylic or See Through Invitations

We are getting all kinds of inspiration from this acrylic invitation! It is etched in gold and is sent in a box with greenery (2017's Pantone color of the year) underneath the invite. This simple elegance is just our style and we hope you love it too!

Play with Color

There is no reason to fear color my friends! We can sometimes get so caught up in the formality of a wedding that we forget that it is supposed to be fun too. Add pops of color in your invitation and set the tone for a fun night. Adding a watercolor effect is a perfect way to blend the many colors together in a seamless way. This element is perfect for boho or beach weddings.

Marble

Marble is another texture we are seeing all over the wedding industry. The colors are neutral and the pattern is natural. Perfect for a clean and fresh invite. Adding the marble to the inside of the envelope is the perfect added touch to tie together the invitation suite.

Folded

Because we should never be too old for cootie catchers! This is a way to add a carefree spirit and a little fun to your invitations. We promise your guests will love the surprise.

Start with a Map

Destination weddings, this is for you! Maps are an incredibly helpful way to guide your out of state guests around the area. Add some of your favorite hikes, restaurants, tourist traps, and other destinations to complete your map. Your guests will thank you later!

What type of invitations are you sending out for your wedding or event? One of the services provided with our Full Service Wedding Planning Package is helping you design and select your invites. Let's grab a coffee and discuss some of your favorite invitation suites.

Pantone Color of the Year: Greenery

Pantone Color of the Year: Greenery

Drum Roll Please...

The 2017 Pantone color of the year is...greenery. Pantone chose this color because they consider it to be a refreshing and revitalizing shade that, to them, symbolizes new beginnings. This is a win for us because we have always been lovers of all things green. Pantone is also calling this color "trans-seasonal", meaning that the color can be worn and used year round. (Try using trans-seasonal in a sentence this week, we dare ya). This is the easiest color to incorporate into a wedding or event. Here are a few ways we think you will be seeing this shade on the wedding scene in 2017.

Emerald Jewels: Picking bridal accessories can be quite the task. Keep it simple and add touches of timeless emerald to your bridal look. Add a dainty necklace or a statement piece like these dangly earrings to add an inviting element to your wedding dress.

Leafy Green Installations: Installations are always a good idea. Whether you are making the perfect photo back drop or hanging vines from the ceiling, having greenery installations gives the feel of a modern garden. We love this trend and we will be incorporating greenery into our May wedding by adding vines to the wooden beams at The Manor House.

For the Table: This is where we see the most possibilities with greenery. Add a greenery garland to run down the centers of your table. This will keep the height of the table short and will give your guests the opportunity to really socialize across the table. Wrap your silverware in a small piece of greenery or tuck a piece into your napkin fold. Adding these small purposeful elements makes your event seem more elegant and well thought out.

Wedding Party Attire: There is something about a deep green that just says elegance and class. Adorn your wedding party in greenery by having your bridesmaids wear green gowns. Green will look good on any skin tone and make the eyes really pop. You can also have your groom rock a emerald colored jacket to make him stand out.

Your Bouquet: Although we love flowers, and boy do we love flowers, lush greenery can create an effect just as beautiful. Have a whole bouquet filed with assorted greenery or add additional greenery to your floral bouquet. Either way it is a win win!

We hope this helped inspire you to throw some greenery into your upcoming wedding or event. This must mean that 2017 is our year because green is our absolute favorite color. Go Pantone go! If you need help figuring out how to incorporate this trend into your wedding or event contact us, we've got a few idea up our sleeves.

WHY YOU Should You Do A First Look?

WHY YOU Should You Do A First Look?

You Can Shake the Jitters: While you are getting ready with your girls and feeling every emotion under the sun, you can't help but envision what it will be like to see your groom for the very first time. By doing a first look you have the opportunity to see the person you love the very most and that person that knows just how to calm you down in a stressful situation. Seeing your groom will help you to shake the jitters and make you feel excited and ready for the day ahead.

He Can Be Himself: Some guys don't exactly love crying in public...we get it. Doing a first look allows the groom to genuinely express himself without having to worry about judgement. Come on ladies, we all want him to shed a few happy tears when he sees you on the big day. Doing a first look will give you the results you really want.

You Will Remember Your Ceremony: If you decided against doing a first look, the first time you will be seeing your guy is at the alter. You will be nervous about how you look, if you wrote the perfect vows, and if the reception will look like you pictured it, all while trying not to trip over your two left feet. There will be so many emotions swirling around in your head that by the time you clear the emotional fog you will be saying I do and the ceremony will feel like a blur. Doing a first look helps to calm down and will allow you to be as present as possible during the ceremony. The ceremony is such a special and important time for the two of you as husband and wife, you won't want to forget it.

It Saves You Time Later: As amazing as all the photos are they are, they take up quite a bit of time. I have some brides have a first look with their future husband, take all their bridal party photos and even invite their family to take their formal photos all before the wedding. This allows the two of you to be a guest at your own wedding and even join your cocktail hour to spend more time with family and friends.  I know this takes away some of the element of surprise but it will give you even more time with the ones you love most.

At the end of the day whether you do a first look or not is one hundred percent up to you as a couple! Whether you are sticking with tradition or looking to try something new we would love to help you plan and coordinate the best day of your life (including the first look)! Let's grab drinks and talk a little more about your special day!

The Yang's DIY Wedding at Lyons Farmette

The Yang's DIY Wedding at Lyons Farmette

Guys, there were alpacas at their wedding...

TR and Young were married on a sunny summer Sunday at Lyons Farmette. When I met TR and Young, I knew that their relationship was so genuine and sweet that I was so happy to be a part of their day. TR was born hard of hearing and Young does an amazing job of taking care of her and making sure she can be a part of any conversation. TR was a simple DIY bride that made all of her centerpieces including the custom concrete vases. On the big day, the ladies got ready in the Farmette's vintage Airstream trailer. When they were ready, TR and her girls walked her down the dirt path to see her future husband for the very first time. Young cried when he saw her, which made for some amazing photos (the photographer being my boyfriend makes me totally unbiased...). To honor Young's Korean culture and members of his family that traveled all the way from Korea, their officiant performed the ceremony in both English and Korean. After the newlyweds said "I do" their guests tossed dried flower petals from paper cones made from pages of the couples favorite book. For dinner, the guests enjoyed eats from the Asian inspired food truck Bao Chicka Bao Bao. The maid of honor added a personal touch to her toast when she started signing a quote dedicated to TR in sign language. So special. During their planning, the Yang's found out that they were expecting a child which was obviously exciting news. They decided to do a gender reveal in front of all of their wedding guests. They made adorable mustache and pink lip props so their guests could cast their vote for a boy or a girl. IT'S A BOY! This moment was so exciting and there were lots and lots of happy tears. The night ended with dancing and indulging on lots and lots of cupcakes. Cheers to a long and happy marriage you two!
